Kollektivhuset Sockenstugan - For the Second Half of Life
Kollektivhuset Sockenstugan is a co-housing community aimed at people over 40 years old. We invite you to join us for information, a tour, coffee, and a small flea market.
Kollektivhuset Sockenstugan is a co-housing community designed for people over 40 years old. Situated in a large, leafy garden, the complex consists of two three-story buildings from 1947, connected by a low-rise extension built in 1999. The original one-room apartments in the home have been combined into slightly larger one-, two-, and three-room apartments, totaling 44 units. The common rooms and the large kitchen are located in the new building, while hobby rooms are found in the basement. The garden includes private garden plots, compost areas, and a dog park.
The 47 residents, aged between 52 and 98 years, cook and eat together five days a week, work in the garden, and clean the common areas. About twenty workgroups help maintain the community spirit.
We rent our apartments from Familjebostäder, which has signed a tenant influence agreement with the Swedish Union of Tenants. Through a special agreement, the association is compensated for garden maintenance and cleaning of the residential buildings. The co-housing association also functions as a local tenant association (LH).
If you’re interested in moving in, you’re welcome to an interview and then to become a member of the association. When (if) an apartment becomes available, you’ll receive an offer to express your interest. The board will then choose the most suitable candidate, prioritizing those of working age.
More information is available on our website.
